Be a part of our mission to improve the lives of and empower those living with macular degeneration.

Our work is inspired by you, and supported by you. At AMDF, our mission is to help all those impacted by macular degeneration to lead better lives.

We do this through:

  • Free Information and Education – the first thing someone seeks when they receive a diagnosis or learn they are at risk is to look for information. We aim to provide information in multiple formats so that new patients can empower themselves with the knowledge they need to make decisions about their lifestyle choices and care.
  • Critical Funding for Research – currently there is no cure for macular degeneration, but advancements in detection, risk reduction, and treatments are made possible through research. Without foundational funding, many labs would not be able to continue their sight-saving work.
  • Raising Awareness – we strive for a future where everyone knows about the risks of developing AMD and what can be done to reduce those risks.
  • Advocating – As long as there are people living with vision loss from macular degeneration, we will fight for, and with, you for policies that improve the lives of those with low vision.

You can help!

Browse the left-menu for ways you can get involved and support the mission of AMDF. Whether you want to write a letter to your representatives to ask for medicaid coverage of assistive devices, or host a fundraising event, or join the thousands of people who wear their AMD Awareness Pin, there are a few ways to join forces to improve the lives of everyone impacted by macular degeneration.
