There are many ways that you may make a gift to the AMDF.

a brighter tomorrow."

President, Board of Trustees, AMDF

We can work with you and your financial advisor to assist in choosing the ways you may want to give.

The AMDF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, publicly supported organization. Contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Here are some ways you may consider contributing:

  • Appreciated Securities

  • Closely Held Stock

  • Real Estate

  • Bequest - Some prefer to leave a bequest of a specific dollar amount; others prefer to leave a percentage of assets in their will.

  • Life Insurance - Make the AMDF owner and beneficiary of a life insurance policy you may no longer need.

  • Assets of a Private Foundation

  • A gift from your company or corporation

  • Other items of net worth

  • Charitable Remainder Trust - After paying you or a family member an income for life, your charitable interest benefits the AMDF while providing you with significant tax advantages.

  • Charitable Lead Trust - You name the AMDF as a beneficiary of income for a specific number of years, after which the corpus returns to other named beneficiaries such as your children or grandchildren.

Share the Vision

The AMDF is indebted to all donors, large and small, who help the Foundation work for a brighter tomorrow. The American Macular Degeneration Foundation is grateful for gifts of any size and offers recognition in our Quarterly Newsletter, In the Spotlight, once a year for contributions in the following categories:

Friend $250 - $499
Supporter $500 - $999
Sponsor $1,000 - $2,499
Benefactor $2,500 - $4,999
Founder $5,000 - $9,999
Visionary Society $10,000 and above

For contributions of $100,000 and above, you will have the opportunity to establish a research grant with a name (name to be mutually agreed upon with the AMDF) of your choosing. You may fund this grant in installments over several years. Please contact us to explore the possibilities.

Corporate Matching Gifts - Double Your Support

Many companies will match your contributions to non-profit organizations. Your gift to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation can go twice as far if you ask your employer for a Corporate Matching Gift Form. Just fill out your company's form and send it along with your donation to the AMDF.

Donations Through United Way

The American Macular Degeneration Foundation wishes to thank those of you who made donations to us through your local United Way.

If you would like to make a donation to the AMDF through the United Way, please contact your local United Way agency and ask them for details.

A Brighter Tomorrow

Since most of our tax dollars are devoted to life-threatening diseases rather than those that are life-changing, we must raise the funds to support education and scientific research to prevent and cure macular degeneration. With your support, we will ensure our vision of a brighter tomorrow.
